Hello, my name is Dana and I’m from the United States. I’ve been very fortunate to have lived in many different US states, but I spent most of my time in Oklahoma. Having lived in so many places has introduced me to all sorts of amazing people and this has undoubtedly influenced my love of traveling! I most enjoy meeting new people and sharing in life with them — whether it’s for a moment or a lifetime. I learn so much from every single person I meet and this is the main reason that I am on this website. I haven’t used couchsurfing since maybe 2013 so this is like a new experience for me!

I’m super laid back and open minded and I strive to treat every human with kindness and respect. I will do anything I can to help someone so if you’re needing help with something, just ask! Also, I’m gay — I try to be upfront with that in the event someone is uncomfortable with it.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I always say I don’t like to go on vacation — I love to travel. Travel is best practiced by taking chances and getting uncomfortable. Learning from others and offering what I can in return is the true spirit of adventure!

Interessen

I love to read, garden (I love my tomato and pepper plants like they are my children), concerts, going to the gym, playing the piano, cooking, hiking, and nights out with friends and a couple glasses of whiskey.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Some of my favorite authors are Borges, Eudora Welty, Wendell Berry, Shirley Jackson, Octavia Butler, Ursula Le Guin, the list goes on.

I also love a good book of poetry — Pablo Neruda, Mary Oliver, Keats, TS Eliot.

I’ve climbed to the top of Pico de Orizaba in Mexico which was one of the hardest/most rewarding experiences of my life!

I’m happy to cook or clean the dishes, or cook AND clean! Some of the best conversations are held around the kitchen sink :) I am always ready to bring a bottle of wine, help bring in groceries, or help move something heavy. It’s all part of the adventure of life.
