About Me
Hi! I just graduated from university in December, so I'm spending the next few months traveling the world to broaden my understanding of other people's ways of life. I studied business at university, and am very passionate about the potential to use business to catalyze positive environmental and social impact; this passion stems from my deep appreciation of nature and kind people.
I was born in Singapore, but lived in California from when I was a baby up until I turned seven years old, from which point I moved to Shanghai and attended an international school until I turned eighteen and went off to college in upstate New York. My mother is Taiwanese and my father is Chinese-American, however, so I spend a lot of school holidays in Taipei and in San Francisco.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm really keen to get to know the places I am visiting through the people who experience life there on a daily basis, the highs and lows and everything in between that comes with living in these respective countries. As a young adult about to enter the "real world", I'd also love to make new friends who live in places other than my own so that they may also one day visit me in New York City (where I'll be living from June onwards)!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Palau, I snorkeled in a lake full of jellyfish without getting stung.
I went SCUBA diving for 5 days in the Similan Islands of Thailand and saw a whale shark!!
I stayed at and worked at a desert camp in the Merzouga of Morocco for a week and learned some Berber/Tamazight language :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and Chinese basics, how to cook some Chinese food, how to use Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Excel, how to sketch/paint, and how to meditate (I attended a 10-day course at Wat Rampoeng in Chiang Mai, Thailand).
I would like to learn as much as possible about locals' ways of life, what you like or don't like about living where you do, how you grew up and where you come from, the history of your homeland, and any other cultural tidbits you would be willing to share :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my experiences growing up in Shanghai and California, as well as Taiwan since I spent many holidays there, in addition to the experiences I've had traveling to other countries in Asia and Europe. I can also help with housework and am always keen to learn skills that may be helpful to others or myself!
