About Me

What's up! I am a recovering ballet-addict, science-nerd, food-obsessed, bubbly 27-year-old music-lover with cravings to see and meet as much and as many amazing places and people I can.

I was born in California, but moved to Denmark when I was a wee girl. I am a halfie (Danish-American), and have always loved the juxtapositions and dichotomies that come with being more than one nationality. I've always been a city-girl, though never by choice:) I find cities fascinating and pulsating, but my heart has always been in nature. I am an avid hiker and have a definite thing for mountains and vulcanoes (yes, I am aware Denmark is flat as can be, haha).

I grew up at the Royal Danish Theater and was a professional ballet dancer for 10 years. Since then, I have taught for another decade, and am now pursuing a science career (I am a massive book-worm, what can I say?).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

All of the most amazing people I have met while travelling, have always been by coincidence - at the beach, at the hostel, at a bar etc., and I love serendipitous meetings! Even though I have couch surfed before, this is my first time on the actual site.
I guess I wanted to try it out due to really positive experiences from friends, and wanting to more easily connect with locals in the cities and countries I get to visit in a really down-to-earth way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed up the vulcano Bromo, Indonesia, at dusk - completely desolate, just to hear the beginning of an eruption and lava being hurled up from its midst. I've never run quicker in my life!
Oh this was also on the same trip I camped on top of Mount Merbabu, only to later realize there was a mountain lion and her cub just further down from the tent - whoopsies.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a MSc in Human Nutrition and teach ballet to all ages on the side, which will mean a guest in your house who can whip up delicious food and even provide some entertainment - dinner and a show, what's not to like? :)
