About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Traveling is my passion. I've currently been doing a lot of domestic travel, exploring our Nations majestic National Parks and meeting new people. Lots of camping and exploring.

ABOUT ME

In the words of my friends I am described as...
passionate, charismatic, and imaginative. brave, strong willed and not afraid to stand up for what I believe in! I am a free spirit who is open to new experiences. I am silly, fun, adventurous and filled with light.

I am a Momma to a wonderful little boy, he is the light of my life!

I'm currently finishing my Teaching degree.

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had an incredible experience thus far with couchsurfing and have met amazing people! Most recently, I traveled through Thailand and Australia and both stayed with locals and met up with other travelers. Nothing but positive!

Interests

I love to do anything outdoors! I was raised camping out of an old Westfalia with my family exploring forests, deserts and seasides. I have a strong will for adventure and a life long love of traveling. I am a creative soul. I enjoy dancing in the moonlight, nature hiking, laughing hysterically, music festivals, picking wildflowers, random adventures and having long philosophical conversations. I am studying cultural anthropology, hence my obsession is culture. I look forward to learning about yours and sharing mine with you!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After I ended a spring semester in Spain and began a 5 week journey through europe... alone. I was terrified at first but the fear soon diminished and was replaced with excitement and empowerment. I stayed in hostels along the way and met incredible people from all over the world. Even though I was on my own I was never really alone. This journey pushed me outside of my comfort and inspired so much insight and growth within me. I made a pact with myself to never say no (to anything worthy of being a safe/positive experience), and every time I was invited on a new adventure- be it beer-tasting with locals in dublin, exploring an ancient overgrown graveyard, climbing mountains, dancing in the moonlight on a boat in norway, or cooking home-cooked food with a local family- I gained not only new friends and brilliant experiences but a sense of liberation and strength and confidence in myself.

A few years ago I traveled to Cambodia with a group of 7 other girls, for a volunteer group we created. There we built water filters and taught English in schools and explored the beautiful country. The experience in and of itself was undoubtedly one of the most inspiring and rewarding of my life but there was one moment that truly left me "awestruck"... we were teaching at a school in a rural village with a group of young and dedicated learners -many of which had walked 7 miles just to come to school- we had just finished playing games and all filled with laughter (the kids were hysterical about us teaching them how to "high-five") and after saying our goodbyes we started walking away when a little girl ran up to me and slid a tiny jeweled bracelet off her wrist offering it to me with the sweetest smile, I took it graciously and slipped off my own handing it to her. These children had so few physical possessions but were so generous and gracious. This moment really touched me, and will always live with me.
