About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To create a ripple effect of happiness and optimism while travelling the USA!
ABOUT ME
Hi there! I'm Dana. 24 years old. Recent college grad with a degree in Public Health (aspiring physician!). I'm an unabashedly happy and optimistic person. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know all different types of people. I am very easy-going and a total goof, all at the same time. I love laughing. My passion is service; I love helping others in any way I can. I have raised Guide Dogs for the Blind for nearly 10 years and will randomly pop up at volunteer events in the community. I'm one of those people crazy enough to think I can change the world! My mission is to create a ripple effect of happiness, love, hope, and acceptance wherever I happen to be.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is a beautiful and wonderful gift that should never be taken for granted. Get out, enjoy, and try to brighten someone else's day in the process!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to surfing myself, but my parents have hosted for years and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know the people they have hosted. I am unable to host with my current living situation, but I am always willing to show people around the beautiful Reno/Tahoe area!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This summer (2013) will be my first experience surfing. My sister and I are on a 3 months cross-country road trip! My parents have hosted for years. My favorite surfer that visited was a gentleman from Boston who came to the area for an endurance bike ride through the Sierra Nevadas and stayed for a week. He is one of the most engaging and optimistic people I have ever met and we are still in contact today!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked as a climbing and ropes instructor at a camp for children who are blind/visually impaired and I witnessed a boy who was deaf & blind succeed in reaching the top of the climbing wall. Life changing experience right there!
