About Me
Hello!
I am a music writer/producer and voice over audio artist from Boston, MA, where my family immigrated to from Russia when I was a child.I recently left my day job to embark on travels with my wonderful partner, Christine (pictured with me in my photos) through Europe in September till about November/December. Unlike me, she has references from other couch surfers that she has stayed with and can be referred to through this link: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/christinehall .
My account has very low activity because I haven't stayed with a host through my profile but I have enjoyed other Couchsurfing experiences through meet ups and such. I love travel and have traveled to Europe a lot and spent time in the middle east but my curiosity to learn about new cultures and people has only gotten bigger.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My good friends hosted many Couchsurfers in their apartment in college which is how I met some of the most interesting people from all around the world who were staying as guests. I'm really interested in submerging myself in a new places through the lens of a local. I find that when I travel to a new place, there is nothing better than getting to a know a local and learning about what a place has to offer from them. Getting to know the non-touristy realness of a new place is my main objective (and to have some laughs while doing it).
Interests
Most of interests lie in the realm of music. I produce and write my own music and perform with various bands. I play multiple instruments but my favorites are guitar and vocals. Most of my music writing is geared towards TV/film so I play and enjoy MANY genres of music. Another part of my traveling curiosity is sparked by my interest in various styles of music around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music favorites range from Chopin to David Bowie. From Chet Baker to 2pac. From Django Reinhardt to Black Flag.
...Point is, I love it all.
I like reading the thoughtful words of Joseph Campbell, Krishnamurti, and Jack Kerouac, or escaping into the world of Arthur Conan Doyle, or perhaps Irvine Welsh.
Movies, movies, oh movies! All sorts are on my top but director-wise, Tarantino, Scorsese, Danny Boyle, Mike Leigh, Almodovar, Fellini, etc. have created my favorite movies ever.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hopped a freight train one summer with my friends and embarked on an adventure of lifetime. Nobody was harmed. It was amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
It's always a treat to learn something new from a new friend and, in return, it's just as nice to teach others new things. That's the art of conversation :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
My partner and I are both the same in the sense that we are both very clean, easy going, and have the curiosity and travel bug. We are completely open to whatever would make the stay more pleasant and enjoyable for everyone. As always, we are grateful to whoever is gracious enough to host us and respect any house rules or conditions that the host may have.
....Oh, and, I LOVE TO COOK. LET ME COOK FOR YOU!
