About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life is like a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving forward.

ABOUT ME

Hello!
My name is Dana and I am a young traveller looking to meet some local people and enjoy some local experiences in your beautiful city ( wherever it may be). In Canada, I spend most of my weekends and summer hours out on the water in a powerboat teaching teens how to sail dinghy boats. I love the sunshine and outdoors. I love to learn but I just need some time to dip my toes into as many oceans as I can before I settle down and figure out what I want to do as a career. Cooking and hiking make me happy no matter where I may be at the time, especially if I can have a good coversation with a friend/stranger while doing both of them. Socializing feeds my soul and I hope to meet fellow surfers who feel the same!

PHILOSOPHY

This has always been a difficult box for me to face because at 22 I feel like I still have to figure that out for myself. But so far this is what I've got. Every person you meet is another opportunity to learn something about yourself. Find the good in others and you'll find it in yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new to couch surfing but seeing as I'm a homeless wanderer at the moment I won't be able to offer up a couch. I'm travelling for 3.5 months with my boyfriend across Europe and we are in search of a futons and couches of all prints and colours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never been an official "couch surfer" with the site but I am a seasoned couch hopper through friends and acquaintences.

Interests

I am fortunate enough to have most of my job on my interest list.
Sailing\coaching sailing

Hiking/trekking - show us your hills and we'll climb them!
Cooking - Not saying I'm good at it...but I do enjoy it.
Dancing - but mostly just in the kitchen with my sister or boyfriend.
Movies - love to catch a good flick or cozy up on the couch with a glass of wine.
Swimming - nothing like the nice relaxed feeling after a few laps.

Music
How on earth does one answer this question?
I can appreciate most any kind of music except for death metal or hard core rap.
I find myself most commonly listening to classic rock or golden oldies from the 70's as my default but I could never narrow down my taste to one genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If I have to pick just one, I have to go with trekking to Machu Picchu. 5 days and 4 nights with people from all over the world. The longest day being 8 hrs trekking up to a glacier at 3500 metres above sea level to see the second highest peak in Peru. Being the first at the gates of the ancient city at 6am before all the tourist buses arrive was the best reward to can ask for. Awesome.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, England, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Morocco, Peru, Poland, Spain, Sweden
