About Me

CURRENT MISSION

connection and creation

ABOUT ME

I'm a dancer, massage therpaist, dance teacher, and circus performer. My performance work combines movement (from contemporary dance to butoh to clowning), with text and image in an attempt to hold a mirror up to the human experience in a more-than-human world. I have a deep love for people in both their glory and their horrors, their genius and absurdity. I love the way travel enlivens and newness awakens perception. I'm also a good cook and love the chance to cook while travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life persists.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Mum, Faun Fables, Goran Bregovic, Iva Bittova, Klezmer, Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Orchestra, Lamb, Leonard Cohen, The Persuasions... a long and wide list. I love listening to artists that I know, especially ones I have or hope to collaborate with.

Movies: Anything by Terry Gilliam, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal...

Books: Jeanette Winterson, Jonathan Safron Foer, Salaman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories, Rebecca Solnit's Field Guide to Getting Lost and As Eve Said To The Serpent, Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins, Herman Hesse, Milan Kundera, Illuminatus Trilogy, many more... Just finished Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite creature in The Dark Crystals were The Striders, four-legged stilt runners. Now I travel the world being payed to do four-legged and acrobatic stilt work.
