ABOUT ME

I'm a dreamer. And a bit of a realist. Sometimes I just let those two sides fight it out....(right now the dreamer is winning :). I tried to work the cubicle job for a while, but it just wasn't me, so now I'm doing what I love. I teach (marketing) part of the week at Oklahoma State University. The rest of the week I'm working as an author/speaker. My first book came out last year and I'm trying to make it work. I love music - I feel music. I can't stop my foot from tapping when a good song starts playing. I'm always up for an impromptu jam session with friends and hosts!

Right now I'm determined to keep living an adventure. I've got a cheesy sense of humor, but I promise to keep my dorky puns to a minimum ;)

My friend and I recently launched a venture to help girls travel cheaply - our website is http://www.travelchicks.tv - we hope our tips and stories will inspire girls. We hope to film our couchsurfing across Europe as much as we can this year.

PHILOSOPHY

Basically I just want to get all I can out of life and do it all....now...

I love seeing new places and people and getting a bit of culture shock once in a while.

When I go to a new place, I like to see the small cafes, the tiny shops that no one knows about except the locals. I'd much rather be there than the touristy places

I'm on the road a lot, but I can host if I'm in town. Or I can show you around town and meet up with you for coffee. Yes, we do have some culture in Tulsa. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've Couchsurfed across Europe and hosted quite a few people as well. I have had such good experiences with Couchsurfing, and I have made so many friendships along the way.

I recently had a very cool experience where I hosted a Couchsurfer from Paris, France in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She then moved to Orlando, Florida, and I stayed at her place there!

Music, Movies, and Books

Just got done reading a psychology-ish book about emotions, fears, and behavior. Am I a dork to admit that I loved Freakonomics?? My favorite movie of all time would have to be The Sting (1973). And I must admit, I have watched the new Pride and Prejudice chick flick a few times...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first trip overseas was to India. My (practical joker) Indian friends convinced me that I needed to pack many sweaters for the trip.....That was a definitely a learning experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can chat about marketing or social media - I've worked in those areas. And I can find anything you want at a yard sale for 15% of retail. Anything...:)

I'd love to learn how to cook authentic home-made food from different regions. Or to create just about any type of art.
