About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Searching for the right Solar Energy career to help transition the world to renewable energy, and I want to help farmers at the same time teaching them how to do Dual Use Solar Farming , or Agrivoltaics.
Also , continuing my very own tree climbing business ( for pruning and tree removals ), and traveling when I can . And to convince you beyond the shadow of any doubt that few things can be more fun than Swinging Polka Dancing !!!

ABOUT ME

Briefly I have lived in Finland & Poland in college work exchanges, studied my junior year in Italy, taught English 4 yrs & learned Mandarin 1 yr in China, now a Grad student in Massachusetts. I luv dancing, sports, & the outdoors. I have worked as both an engineer at CAT and an arborist. Looking to combine those two as I study Tree Biomechanics. I grew up in a very typical Wisconsin fashion, that is, on a dairy farm. When I returned from teaching in China, I found a group at church to volunteer to tutor internationals in English in Illinois.

PHILOSOPHY

The simple answer is that I am a non denominational Christian hoping to spread joy and happiness to those I come into contact with in addition to other passions mentioned in other sections .

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I will gladly go dancing or meet for coffee with other surfers. So I have many travel stories to share, and when I surf on your couch, you have the chance to get some free dance lessons as well. AND if you show up at the right time back in the USA, I can take you to some Polish style Polka Dance Festivals which are usually under a big tent with non-stop music, dancing, and family fun, with dancers from 3 years of age up to 80 plus. Or we can go to some Texas 2 step and line dance places to kick up our heels !!

Interests

I have many, but one of my quests is to bring back Polka dancing to popularity since it is not the old fashioned thing that so many people have in their mind. [ SEE THE COLLECTION OF YOU TUBE EXAMPLES IN MY MUSIC SECTION ] Polka music and dancing have evolved away from tuba's and the oom-pah style into a high flying uptempo beat with saxophones, fiddles, bass guitars, trumpets, and clarinets. And these days the more creative Polka dancers mix swing, country, and even Latin moves into their polkas. And if you still are not convinced, I have some polka contest videos for ya :) Polka events are family events where everyone is smiling ! I dare you to try it and not have a good time :)

Music, Movies, and Books

This will shed your outdated "myths" about polka music. These sure ain't no oompah polkas, no Lawrence Welk, and not your grandma's polka.. I dare you to keep up, so ladies you had better double knot your shoes laces and be ready to fly !!!! --->>>

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Fjords of Norway, both from the train, but more so from the boat.

Ice sculptures in Changchun, China, only regret I did not go to Harbin for the most famous Ice Festival.

Visiting the tribal areas in Thailand and Laos.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of my "missions" is to put Wisconsin onto the map for more people around the world .. And I hope more people will know what arborist means and what we do after meeting me ( truthfully even many USA folks are not sure about this ) And hopefully you will learn that there are such people as Tree Experts and Tree Consultants.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Denmark, Laos, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, United States
