I'm an avid dancer and traveler finishing up my doctorate at the University of Michigan. I'll be backpacking around Japan and TBD other countries in Asia in the Summer of 2015 before moving to Manhattan to start a new career.

UPDATE: I've since graduated and moved to NYC in Fall 2015.

I'll be traveling soon around Asia and thought this seemed a great option alongside hostels. Also, one of my closest friends is an avid couch surfing host in San Francisco and I'm excited to participate when I live in NYC

Dancing! I'm the current president of a competitive ballroom dance team at Michigan, have previously taught salsa dancing for years, and am just always dancing around to anything with a beat. Avid traveler: I lived abroad one year in undergrad and the bug never left. After visiting numerous countries in South America and Europe, I decided it was time to get to Asia - finally.

I dance to everything: salsa/bachata/merengue, hustle, and ballroom as well as hip hop, dance, and pop. For books, I enjoy classic lit the most and have read numerous books by Dickens, Dumas, Tolstoy. And I always get a kick out of fantasies like Harry Potter and Hunger Games. I've recently begun reading more historical nonfiction including biographies and autobiographies of individuals such as Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Frederick Douglas.

I'm not sure what is being asked here. But, I can teach dance. I'd love to learn other styles and outdoor hobbies such as surfing, camping as well as other languages.

I bring a positive attitude without a sense of entitlement. I'm curious about the world and happy to share in adventures with my host if they're interested, but also independent enough to explore on my own when my host is busy with other things or simply doesn't wish to go out.
