ABOUT ME

I just like the company of interesting people. people are the greatest and most surprising resource. It's great to find common ground but find inspiration often comes from the most unexpected places.
I love music.. really love music! and Cinema. I'm a city boy but need some remoteness and nature also. I'm good at putting on parties in interesting places. Love getting things done.. collaborating and jamming. Learning to live in the moment. Trying to loose some of my English reserve.
I've been running an artist workshop and music studio in Nottingham for the past 8 years. The powerful urge to travel has prompted pass on the studio and do some exploring, just me and my ideas book. I'm a musician/songwriter and I've seen a fair portion of the Europe with my band but my job also has me spending more time on the road, mainly as a spotlight operator with an ice show.
Anyway.. now I'm traveling, driven by a simple curiosity about music and community. The USA is an obvious place to start for me as this is where a great deal of the music I love comes from. Next on the list... Berlin.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just returned from a trip to the USA for 3 months and had a totally positive Coachsurfing experience out there. I've returned with a real interest in what I can offer my local CS network.
It's the combination of the local and the worldwide experience that gives CS so much potential.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing experience so far has opened my eyes to the possibilities of travel, it removes sensation of being a tourist' when visiting places and gifts you local experience .I Discovered CS just before my trip to the U.S.A. It's unlocked the places I've been staying. The principal of couch surfing is very familiar to me especially through traveling and touring with the band. Bands like mine would find it difficult to tour without being hosted by friends, promoters, fellow bands hosting you so it's very common to host and be hosted.

Interests

Music, food, cities, countryside, novels, words, pool, talking, listening, learning... i'm interested in anything of substance and quality, anything that has been well used and has had a life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hanging round Montemartre and soaking up the vibrations of that beautiful district of Paris.
Getting soaked in the Thunder storm on my first morning in Austin.
Floating down river in the Crystal clear waters of Geneva.
Putting on and playing at a free party for 4000 people and seeing the whole dancefloore go crazy at the peak of the party.
