Begginer. I have lived 3 months in Pisa, Italy and while I was there I visited: Bologna, Ancona, Milano, Florence, Livorno, Lucca, Roma, Castiglioncello, Sienna, Grosetto.

Movies: any kind of movie as long as it is entertaining and well made...and not cheesy(personal favourites: The Big Lebowski, A beautiful mind, Memento, Schidler's List).

Books: Dostoevsky, Tolstoi, Balzac, etc.
