My boyfriend and I are both recent graduates from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. We are interested in travelling and meeting amazing people along the way before returning to school in September 2018. I graduated from Chemical Engineering while he graduated from Mechanical Engineering. We have been living in Calgary for the last few months trying to save money for our travels. While in Calgary we have been able to hike the Rocky Mountains and visit BC. Both Rory and I love sports, we try and be as active as we can. This summer we have been able to play ultimate frisbee and softball, as well as hit the gym.

I played university hockey for 4 years and looked at joining the figure skating team (weird sport combination). Friendly, easy going, open-minded and respectful. Sometimes people say I can be a little blunt but at least that means I am honest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have read so many amazing stories about the people on Couchsurfing which inspired me to join. People have shared so many positive experiences about touring city's with their hosts. It would be awesome to learn about the cultures (and food) of another country through a local.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am currently watching several shows on Netflix including Shameless, House of Cards, The Mindy Project, and Ozark. I enjoy boxing movies such as Rocky, and animated movies such as Zootopia. I do not read often but Rory loves to read. He is currently reading Game of Thrones and watching the show. Currently reading books by John Grisham.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer we (Rory and I) were able to visit Vancouver Island. We did not a plan on where to stay just what to do. We went surfing in Tofino (which was amazing), hiking, and visited the beaches. After this we ended up finding a small campground (The Lost Shoe, would recommend if ever camping in Tofino) where the owner told us his life story about how he worked for the Colonel (KFC), was hit by a vehicle and bought an island with the money from the lawsuit. It was an awesome experience.

I grew up on skates and am more than willing to give a lesson if interested, I've taught learn to skate for 7 years!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Rory loves to cook and I am sure he would be very willing to cook a nice meal if interested. We would also really love to make nachos or poutine for our hosts!
