About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing the world that God created for all of us by any means necessary.LOL I want to share my stories and travels but mainly to see how the world is shaped and formed by the people in it. You never really know a country until you go there and meet the people who make it come alive.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel. I am an avid reader of anything that will boarden my horizons. I love to cook and learn how to cook other cultures food. I may not eat everything but it does not hurt to learn it just in case you need to prepare it for a friend. I am married to a wonderful man(who by the way supports Couchsurfing. Yeah) with two children of my own and two step daughters who live with their mom. I am a veteran of the Army and I was a diseil mechanic and tow truck operator while station in Germany. I lived in Colorado for 5 1/2 years and I love the mountain views.
I have two grown daughters ages Darlana, an Army Veteranlike her mom-31 in Austin Texas and Dawntanya 34 who lives in Missouri w/ grandson, Dante-17 and Dhani-14 and Dyana 6.

I have a wonderful and amazing husband named Charles. He has traveled acrossed the US extensively but never aboard til last our first cruise 2012( he has been bitten).

I want to be able to travel the world with him very soon so we both can experience and meet our brothers and sisters around the world. Race is not an issue or prerequisite. You can't chose your family, but you can chose your friends to make up a new family as you go. LOL

Life is a journey...so make one hell of a trip while we can. It will be wonderful to meet all the people in each country and U S we hope to visit and get their experience of the culture and life in general.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey and lets make one hell of a trip while we can.
My life is like a book. My pages are blank and ready for a new chapter to written everyday I open my eyes.

Can't chose our family, but can chose a good friends to make the family you always wanted. LOL

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan on participating more in the next year or so when my nest is completely empty(not quite another one moved in but he is my hubby's dad. Gotta do what you have to do for family. sigh! No naked house for me:{! LOL). I will do my share of hosting with at least one week advance notice and hope to take advantage of the same hospitality with future hosts around the world. I spread the word about CS to everyone I know especially veterans.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Dude and Dudettes!! since i posted my profile, i have had some great surfers which two have are now permanent residents of Austin. This city is contagious!! I dressed up for Halloween in Orlando which was out of my comfort zone. I surfed in Ft. Lauderdale and cook for great guys who I will be doing again in the future. Hosted in St. Petersburg. I was taken to many place by my surfers here in Austin that I have never been too. So hosting and surfing is bring me great joy of life and life with joy.
Update: I live in Mazatlán Mexico 🇲🇽 now as a permanent resident.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any Anne Rice, Kelley Armstrong or whatever books catches my fancy at the moment or rather what is on sale.LOL
Just read a great one called Black Indians: a hidden Heritage by William Loren Katz. amazing insight.
All music especially jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived being physically hit by a truck at 54 mph with no broken bones or serious physical injuries. God is great and so is laughter. I was laughing when I was hit so I didn't see it coming. I went snorkeling for the first time in Cancun. I can't swim and have a fear of deep water. I was so proud of self for taking the chance to do something to conquer my fear.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach people how to cook, work on cars, take care of children and anything else I know how to do. I want to learn whatever and whenever possible. This is why I am still in school called life. Learning is an essential part of life. We do it everyday and don't realize it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my love of food. My love of gardening. my adventures in life. I can share my laughter. Anything within reason. LOL my love of life as a whole. For me, Couchsurfers/couchsurfing is like having extended family members coming to stay. You may be out of touch for a while, but they know they have a home when they need it.
