Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Isn't it nicer and more personal to stay with welcoming people who gift their space to you instead of make exchanges?

I've surfed in California and London years back, and stayed in hostels in a lot of other places. I just like to hang out and get a meaningful experience of a place. Right now I'm in Cape Town working on a degree and a teaching job.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Life Is Beautiful, My Neighbour Totoro, Oldboy, Fight Club, tonnes more.
Music: Generally everything, but I try to avoid a lot of the latest pop stuff. Lately it's been Michael Jackson, Oceano, and Boy.
Books: Frankenstein, Ningen Shikkaku, The Dispossessed, A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, The Feast of The Goat, Kokoro - and in the non-fiction side The Garden of Peculiarities, The Revolution of Everyday Life.
And I love the manga/anime One Piece!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got a pretty good basic background in philosophy and love ethics in particular. I'm also interested in extra-parliamentary political stuff and spend a lot of time engaging with that.
