About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be a blessing to others.

ABOUT ME

I love to experience life, especially through meeting people. In 2009, I took a 6 week road trip across the US and Canada and we spent almost every night on someone else's "couch." It was amazing. People would ask what we'd seen or where we'd been, and the answers were people not places/landmarks and I think our trip was all the richer for it. It's all about the people.
I recently left l'arche, Seattle. They're all about sharing life with people with developmental disabilities. Check them out, they're amazing: www.larche.org.
I am currently living with people whom I take care of as my job, giving them the best quality of life possible. I'm basically a professional roommate (and therefore a very well trained couch surfer ;) ).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have many good couch surfing experiences to offer to the karma of the couch surfing. I love the communal aspect and opportunity to walk alongside another for even a short time, share the journey.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a couple of amazing longer term couch surfs in which I really got to know the people and cultures. Surfing a couch, you get to know where someone who lives here would eat or shop or relax, which can be so much better than the "tourist guide book recommendation;" and you often have a willing personal tour guide. After a week or two, you can really start to feel like family and form lasting friendships. I've also had whirlwind tours of couch surfing, a different couch every night, which provided an amazing testament to the hospitality and generosity of humanity, even on short notice ;).
