About Me

Hi! I’m Dafne, a curious architect from Mexico City.
I love exploring new cultures, architecture, and everyday life in different places — travel for me is about people, not just places.

I’m calm, respectful, and always ready to laugh. I enjoy meaningful conversations, local food, strength training, and getting lost in new cities.

I speak Spanish and English, and I’m currently traveling solo through Europe. Couchsurfing is my way of truly connecting with a place and its people.
If you host me, I’m happy to share stories, laughter, and good vibes — and maybe cook something for you too! 👩‍🍳

Hope we meet soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best part of traveling isn’t just the places — it’s the people.
I love connecting with locals, sharing stories, and experiencing each city from the inside, not just through guidebooks. For me, travel is about learning how others live, seeing the world through different eyes (preferably blue ones — just kidding ;), and creating meaningful moments along the way.

I’m a respectful, easygoing guest who’s genuinely curious about culture, architecture, and the little things that make each place unique — like a hidden café, a local saying, or a family recipe. Couchsurfing allows me to grow, give back, and carry real memories from every trip — not just photos.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste! I enjoy music that matches my mood — from indie and acoustic vibes to Latin beats and 2000s throwbacks. If it makes me dance, think, or sing off-key, I’m in. 🎶If it's dancing Salsa or Cumbia, I´m in. I love singing — especially when no one’s listening (or even when they are 😄). My playlists go from chill acoustic and Latin classics to feel-good pop and songs I can belt out with zero shame.

When it comes to movies, I love a mix of things: thought-provoking documentaries, lighthearted comedies, emotional dramas, and anything with a good story and a human touch. I’m a big fan of Disney movies — they’re pure joy and nostalgia for me. Up always gets me emotional (yes, I cry every time), and Matilda… well, I basically know it by heart! I also love romantic dramas like The Notebook — guilty pleasure and proud of it.
When I’m in the mood for something more intense, I go for mind-bending films like Inception or Shutter Island — Leo DiCaprio has my full attention in those.

Books? I enjoy romance novels, personal development, and stories that inspire or move me. Whether it’s fiction or self-improvement, I love anything that makes me reflect or grow — and, of course, underline meaningful quotes.
I highly recommend the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. It’s a simple but powerful guide to personal freedom and happiness — full of practical wisdom that has really helped me grow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’m always trying to follow my soul; I don’t like to betray my beliefs. So I've been practicing martial arts since 6 yo. I moved from Mexico to Australia to learn about different cultures and food. I love cooking and eating delicious food.
One of the coolest (and maybe weirdest) things I can do is move my eyes independently in a horizontal direction. It’s like having a built-in superpower — people always get surprised when I show them!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching through sharing my experiences and perspectives—especially about architecture, travel tips, and personal growth. I believe everyone has something valuable to offer, and I enjoy exchanging ideas that help us see the world differently.

I’m always eager to learn new things—from different cultures and languages to unexpected life lessons. Meeting people through Couchsurfing is a great way to grow and expand my horizons.

Sharing kindness, stories, and laughter is what makes connections meaningful for me. I’m here to both give and receive — creating memorable moments together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m happy to share good conversation, laughter, and positive vibes. I love exchanging stories about architecture, travel experiences, and cultural insights. If you’re interested, I can also share some design ideas or tips — maybe even help brainstorm your dream space!

I’m respectful, tidy, and always willing to help around the house or with small tasks. Plus, I bring an open mind and curiosity, ready to learn from you and your culture.
