No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep. Last year my friend hosted a backpacker for the first time and was nervous about welcoming a stranger into her home. The evening before the backpacker arrived, she was frantically texting me if this was a good idea. The next morning she called me and said that she had stayed up all night with her guest exchanging stories and jokes over one too many beers. She had made a friend for life! Her awesome experience inspired be to join couchsurfing. I want to recreate that experience for other people and myself.
