Overview
About Me
I find it somewhat vain to speak of oneself. I wouldn't be able to say anything that ends up being true, just because I can't see me the way you can.
I may say what I strive to be everyday that I wake up.
I'm a sociable person, but I also need to be alone, and sometimes for a long time. I'm very curious about everything and I love sharing experiences with people, either face to face or through literature, music or the arts in general.
I enjoy drinking, dancing, playing music and having some laughs, but at the end of the day I could say I'm rather serious, 'cause I enjoy deep long talks in the dark (either about life in general, politics, death, whatsover), reading poetry, watching films and sharing aesthetic and political opinions.
I think people are "isles of magic and fear", as the writer Borges wrote (paraphrasing someone else, I think). So I love meeting people and getting to know them; that is, getting to know their fears and their magic.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I find it amazing to get to know people just by letting them stay over in your place; and it's also great to travel and visit another city and stay not at a hostel (where there are interesting people as well, but you never know whether you'll make friends there) but at somebody else's place, whereby you can get to talk to someone as soon as you've arrived.
WHY? Because people have stories. And THAT'S what I feed on, STORIES.
Looking at the Eiffel Tower or at the only single tree in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere is NOTHING to me if there isn't any story behind it.
Interests
I'm interested in two main areas:
PEOPLE
and
LITERATURE (and the Arts in general)
I LOVE meeting people, getting to know their fears and their experiences, because they have STORIES to tell.
And I am a writer, or so I try to be. I've self-published a book (short-stories) in December, 2013. I love reading and writing, which is like listening to music and playing music, or speaking and listening: to me, everything is about living and sharing, telling.
Throughout these 24 years of mine, if there's one thing I came to learn about myself, is that I love learning.
Apart from that, I like travelling, music, philosophy, psychology, languages, poetry, the English sense of humour, chess and laughing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can't list my favorite music, or movies or books. It depends on the moment I'm living.
Somehow I tend to forget the films I watch. As regards books, it's easier for me to remember them, but again, I'm not very good at remembering even the best things I've read. And I could also say the same thing about Music. But I try to keep a list of them, so as to go back to them from time to time. Presently I'm trying to build up a personal Bibliothek (library).
If I have to pick up a random Music Album, a Film and a Book that I really enjoyed listening to/watching/reading, I may mention, for example:
Low Roar - Low Roar
Memento (Christopher Nolan)
Leaves of Grass (Whitman)
but just saying...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have looked at a certain person in the eyes today
and we have laughed
together
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning. I always try to learn something from every person I talk to. I'd even let out that I NEED to learn something from everyone (which may very well be deemed as a drawback). That's why I try to grow an interest in everything I can.
Withal, my main interests are literature, poetry, philosophy, films and music.
As for teaching, I love explaining the things I know, but I feel somewhat selfish because I think I'm better at learning than at teaching...
