About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to maintain a childlike curiousity for learning and life fostered by the people I meet, stories I'm told and places I see.
ABOUT ME
I spent the first 18 years of my life growing up in Santa Barbara, CA, where I changed homes and schools relatively ofter. This semi-transient childhood coupled with the inspiring nature of my Adopted family endowed me with my wanderlust. In Santa Cruz, CA, where I went to College, I met many amazing people who both helped me grow and grew with me. It was here that I came to a realization that a high school friend who constantly called me a hippie knew me better at that point then I did. After college I spent 5 months living and working at a farm and school in one of the most beautiful places I'm been, the Olympic Peninsula in WA state. I'm currently living in Northampton, ma studying herbalism.
I consider myself to be a little shy when it comes to first encounters but can warm up quickly if given the chance. I'm a quirky, fun, caring and honest individual genuinely interested in other people. One of my favorite things is learning a person, getting to know them through their words and subtle actions which can offer insight into their true self. While I enjoy getting to know others and sharing parts of myself I tend to be closed off to deep intimacy and it takes time to break through that layer of my shell. Once through though I can be the truest and fiercest of friends. I find great solace in nature.
PHILOSOPHY
To laugh whenever possible because, if genuine, I believe it can be the most beautiful sound and powerful action.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, since I lack a couch, I'd love the opportunity to meet and show around any travelers to my new home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I traveled for 5 months in various parts of Europe where I met and was hosted by some amazing individuals and crazy characters. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Interests
I love nature and being outside. Hiking, swimming, planting, growing, climbing, kayaking, biking, climbing trees, animals, really anything. Within the last 2 years I've cultivated a mild infatuation with Permaculture and believe that the inspiration and innovation of the sustainability movement can save our planet if we only have the courage to listen and adapt. I was a cultural anthropology major in school so am fascinated by people, what we believe, how we grow, interact with each other and our world, eat, dance, dress, love. I also enjoy reading, laughing, dancing, cooking/baking, knitting, drinking beer, listening to music (live preferably) and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: 100 years of Solitude, The book thief, The glass castle, animal miracle vegetable, made from scratch, 3 cups of tea, eat pray love, etc...
Movies: I'm an avid movie watcher and love Documentaries, Indie films, comedies, film noir, Drama also action and animation if it has substance.
Music: I love most types of music but tend to listen to folk, indie, americana, blues and Rock from 60's and 70's most frequently.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm alive, that is pretty amazing. In addition I danced with a girl in India once where our shared language was only the movement of our bodies and sounds of our laughter.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have random bits of knowledge in a lot of different areas. I speak English and a bit of Spanish. I can dance and know somethings about yoga and rock climbing. I also have some knowledge of Permaculture, working with plants and animals. There is more but I'm one of those people who doesn't know what they can share until they know the interests of the person they're with. I love to learn. Currently I'm really interested in anything that fosters self sufficiency and sustainability such as cooking, brewing beer, growing food, canning, weaving, owning and working with animals, etc.
