My name is Dan, I'm an Aussie guy who has recently discovered the travelling and adventure bug. My life prior to meeting some amazing people in the past year was pretty bland and structured, the normal kind of 'ho hum' existence we can all tend to find ourselves in. I had a devastating house fire which hit my family and I hard however it was an opportunity to 'start over' and with the encouragement of a special person who walked into my life recently I have taken a chance at trying different things and stepping out of my comfort zone.

With this newly discovered confidence I enjoy meeting all kinds of people, travelling the world learning and growing as an individual.

My job as an internationally published ( FHM MAXIM PLAYBOY ) glamour photographer has enabled me to meet some wonderful people, be entertained at some amazing parties. However I don't take lightly that responsibility and the perks that come with being a glamour photographer, being professional at all times while i work is strictly what I stand for.

I'm easy to get along with , love a laugh and genuinely have a good time.

A regular day in my life would consist of myself heading to one of the many amazing cafes around my house .. Then heading to the beach and a nice relaxing afternoon at home with a beautiful typical Sydney summer sea breeze to cool you off. This would then be followed up with dinner and drinks to one of the many wonderful establishments that surround my city.

When traveling that would be my ideal day only in reverse ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to couchsurfing thru a friend and have been hooked ever since. Although a late bloomer as far as having the travel bug bite I believe your never to old to try new things .. I'm enjoying what life has to offer right now and look forward to taking that to the next level ...

WEATHER: Ever since a little kid weather, specifically thunderstorms have fascinated me, my hobby within my job of photography is photographing lightning. The adrenalin rush of standing in an open field waiting for a bolt of lightning to capture is truly a drug! Next on my list is chasing and capturing tornados in America's Midwest.

SPORT : Love all kinds from all around the world, from my national sport Tennis, Golf, Cricket & Rugby League to international sports like NBA or NFL. Sport has that knack of bringing people together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think music brings people together despite race religion or creed. Something primeval about rhythm and a beat. Throw in melody and words and its a wide reaching medium that everyone can enjoy. I love U2 , The Killers Radiohead etc

Throw in some modern jazz some, beats a lil hip-hop some soul and a few chilled sunday sounds and you pretty much have my musical tastes. The older I get the more open my ears are to new music. You can't box me into any 'age demographic' I like what I like.

Movies wise I love a classic comedy or a modern SciFi or drama film :)

Anything to do with the Universe and the eternal questions man will always have yet may never find answers too!

What purpose are we to have?
What or how started 'this'
When does 'this' all end?
Are we all in this together or are we to forge our own paths in life?

Books are knowledge we all know that, but I find in the ever decreasing spare time we have with all the things like social media taking our precious time that my 'book' these days is reading a newspaper and keeping up with world affairs, I think it's important to have your head around what's happening in the world, whilst most news is bad news I have always been an avid news reader :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years back I had the amazing opportunity to swim with reef sharks in Fiji.

Another amazing experience was being able to party at the Playboy Mansion with the iconic Hef himself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe I can teach many qualities about life , being slightly older has given me a more measured outlook on life , experienced but I wouldn't say 'wise' lol but hey we can never stop learning, the day we do I think is the day our soul is dead.

I'm always open to hearing about other people's views on life and sharing these new found views and passing them on to the next 'surfer'

What I Can Share with Hosts

I value immensely the kindness of fellow 'surfers' opening up their homes and things I would do to earn my keep are various chores ( dishes etc ). I'm a clean person and always clean up after myself. My glamour photography can enable me to be invited to some amazing events and meet celebs , I would always take a 'surfer' along if I'm at an event in a city I am being hosted at.

Knowledge and a general purpose to repay in kind friendship those that offer a 'couch' to me ..

Meet people and also one day return the favour and host in my home town of Sydney :)
