ABOUT US

A cool couple that wants to meet you. Through traveling, we have built many friendships, discovered and learned more about ourselves, people and the world than we ever could have imagined. Now that we are settled in New Orleans, we look forward to learning from you.

We live in a nice 4 bedroom home. Guests have their own bedroom, and bathroom that might be shared with other guests. If more than 2 people, we might be able to make sleeping arrangements.

We live in a cool part of New Orleans called St. Roch (pronounced Rock). It's a cool up and coming place that is close to the French Quarter, Frenchman St., Marigny. Many call this area the "New Marigny".

We LOVE to host. HOW DO WE CHOOSE?

We truly love hosting couchsurfers, but we receive so many requests that we've realized some boundaries are in order.

Danielle- I am an former Funeral Director and Embalmer. I am a Certified Orthotist, my day job. I specialize in designing and fitting helmets on infants with positional plagiocephaly...a condition where a baby's head is deformed from pressure.

Danielle- I enjoy shopping, exploring, hiking, running, walking with Greg, making pottery (haven't been able to lately), fitness pole dancing, and last but not least I love burlesque!!!! When I visit a city the first thing I do is see if I can find a show to attend. I also enjoy old Cemeteries!!!! When we are traveling, I visit one in almost every place we go.

Greg- If You Feel That Technology Has not simplified your life, you have not met Greg. He enjoys working with various forms of technology. Particularly productivity tools such as computers, the internet, mobile computing, applications and software. Once I learn techniques and tips, sharing this information with others to help make their day to day routines easier is what I enjoy most. This joy of helping others has been the inspiration for creating and pursuing my passion.

Greg- I am regularly working toward improving myself as a person. It is a great challenge, and helps me avoid boredom. I have come a long way, and can see there is a long way to go. I guess it would be called living life, and it is a great journey:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love to host...maybe more than surfing. Each experience has been unique and rewarding. We like when our guests contribute in their own unique way. We have been fortunate to receive a photo shoot, gifts, snacks, meals and wine. Our friendships and experiences with our guests have been the greatest gifts of all!

When we are traveling we surf... We strive to bring a positive and memorable experience to all. As guests, in your home, we are respectful to you, your family, pets, and property. We look forward to meeting you and sharing a meal and some interesting conversations. We enjoy the opportunity to spend time with you whenever possible and we are open to many activities, whether it is hiking your favorite trail, visiting local landmarks, helping with projects personally or professionally, or volunteering in various capacities.

We have discovered hosting a last minute surfer in a timeshare or a hotel when we're visiting a city provides a nice a unique experience for us and our guests.

We enjoy attending CS events and meet people in the community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We travel quite often and couch surfing has played an integral role. We plan as we go and will continue our journey

So far we have met, stayed, and toured with many fellow CSers which has been an amazing way to meet people, and make new friends. We look forward meeting more people, and building more friendships.

We love to explore and enjoy new experiences. We enjoy walking/hiking in different cities and rural areas. Mostly our lives have been consumed with Beauty Butler. It's so exciting!

We are easy going and can easily adapt to most situations....

We are computer geeks and internet junkies we love to utilize technology for learning, exploring, researching, completing tasks, and keeping in touch with friends and family.

We love all types food :). We are not foodies, just love trying new cuisines and restaurants. We try not to overindulge, but sharing conversation over a nice meal is always very nice.

We enjoy experiencing the sights and sounds of new locations. We have been on numerous walking and biking tours, and have walked many miles in each place we visit. We look forward to many more enjoyable walks in places that are new for us!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day is amazing.....Watching the sun rise in the morning, watching the sun set in the evening, and enjoying the stars in the beautiful moonlit sky.

Dani- I have embalmed and cared for the dead, helped make funerals beautiful celebrations, reshaped hundreds of infants heads, and stripped away my clothes on stage!

Greg- I have failed miserably, and had successes that have even surprised me!

Teach, Learn, Share

Greg - Figuring out what I want, writing it down, then planning accordingly has helped me to focus on what is important. This has allowed me to accomplish so much I previously thought impossible. The above process creates a great environment for happiness. Surprisingly, the most difficult part for me has been determining wants, not working to get them.

Dani- I love to share burlesque with surfers and hosts. If there is a show going on, you should come along and experience this unique and amazing art form!!!
I am always looking for a partner in crime when it comes to perusing a vintage or charity shop! So let's go explore!
