About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore and meet new people!

ABOUT ME

Friendly, positive, open-minded, and enthusiastic about making the most of my time living in Europe.

I moved to Zafra (Extremadura) in September 2011 and will be living and working here until summer 2013. I'm hoping to explore Spain and the rest of Europe, meet lots of interesting people, and grow a little bit while I'm at it. I love everywhere I've traveled but there's always so much more to see!

PHILOSOPHY

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.

I've never been much of a risk-taker, at least until moving across the world by myself, but I'm convinced that the best way to grow as a person is to do things that terrify or otherwise challenge you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't yet been as active in the CS community as I'd like, but look forward to expanding on this experience as soon as possible. I've got ideas for several trips in 2013, so hopefully I'll be able to meet some new Couchsurfing friends in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only hosted once and surfed once so far, but took away great memories and meaningful connections with the people I've met. I'd definitely like the opportunity to host again while living here in beautiful Zafra.

Interests

Good food, laughing, running and sports, playing the piano, exploring new places, art and music from other cultures, meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie: The Sound of Music

Books: I love reading but grew out of the habit while at University. I'm trying to remedy this habit now. Currently reading two books: Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, and the Spanish translation of The Distant Hours by Kate Morton.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Spain has been genuinely Amazing. It's set the bar high for my next adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in learning to cook, and I love learning about the history and culture of the places I visit! I can share an open mind, an abundance of positive energy, and a bottle of Spanish wine :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Chile, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
