Hello fellow couch surfers and nomads! My name is Dan and I'm from Liverpool. Since 18 I've been taking breaks from the social experiment to hitchhike around and learn more about the cultures and people in this beautiful world of ours. Its become a great passion of mine and now I like to interview and collect footage on my journeys to create future projects.

I'm open minded and respectful always willing to listen. I have many interests but I mostly occupy my time to myself studying psychology, tiny house building, playing piano 🎹 and exploring new places and people's perspectives. I haven't been active on couchsurfing for a while due to various reasons but after so many beautiful experiences in the past it's good to be back hosting when at home and surfing when abroad. If you can host me or hang out at any point on my travels I would be most grateful for the time offered and look forward to our conversations. I find the beauty of meeting people when travelling is because the time is so limited people rush to a place of authenticity and honesty, hence why I started the interviews to get to know people on a deeper yet fun level. Please let me know if you would like to be interviewed as it is not something I would ever want to force, the questions are varied some are silly and fun and some are deeper and require critical thought and introspection. Any recorded interview will not be used in any media without written consent.

I don't like going into too much detail about myself on these things as I find it strange going to meet someone completely new and they know about 50% of your life so I avoid doing that. The time spent together is our chance for that

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This app was incredibly kind to me when I travelled and will be travelling again soon. Because of that I want to try just a few people too regardless of not having the most ideal situation and sharing my house I've slept on floors and stuff in people's houses so I think it would be fine haha.

Interests

Main interest is the human psyche. Hence the love for integrating meeting entirely different, interesting people wether it be characters in a play or real ones while traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love my music and play bass guitar and drums myself. My taste in music ranges from classical far eastern music to heavy metal, if it's got heart and soul then I'll probably enjoy it. Also love movies as it's what probably gave me the acting bug, favourite kind of films are probably gangster/crime thriller films (The departed being my favourite) also a tv nut as I've pretty much completed Netflix. Mostly read scripts and autobiographies to be honest and love writing my own stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitched and surfed through Norway for a month and a half and only spent 80 Euros.

Saw the northern lights.

Hitched around Asia for 3 months with a girlfriend and didn't kill her.

Stayed in a "hotel" (cave) built by colonel Ghadaffhi... in Sweden... on Halloween... honestly was super weird.

Survived camping at -14°.

Toured around Britain in a number of plays.

Got attacked and mugged by monkeys stealing my camera with 3 hours of footage that was to be used to create a YouTube guide to hitchhiking...

Accidentally smoked either crack/heroin thanks to a hitchhiking lift...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you all sorts of useless information as I'm an information sponge probably throw a useless fact into a conversation now and again... do what you want with it :p.

Convinced I can teach anyone to act if you're willing to do what I say and leave behind embarrassment. Being silly and looking like a twat is 90% of the job.

Also have a big interest in sports especially football so if you're into it just start me off and we can talk for ages.

Have done lots of research Into psychedelics and the meaning behind dreams, hallucinations and dormant depression/mental disorders. More psychology.
