Overview
About Me
My name is Daniel Bieckmann, and I'm a 22-year-old Dutchie (Amsterdam born and raised!) living in New York City! I'm currently in my second and last year of Grad school (Design and Urban Ecologies, Ms), at the Parsons School of Design. Besides studying I love making music! I played the piano for many years as a kid, and have taught myself to play the (acoustic) guitar. Therefore sittting around a fire, outside, making music, is one of my favourite things to do!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing, because I think the greatest beauty of travelling is getting to know a different place and different people, exchange stories and values, take a part of each other to build who we are and move on to discover the rest of the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't know if this is a book I recommend you to read or to leave untouched whenever possible, but "A Little Life" is currently the most intense book I read! If you're ready to read about life, relations, struggles, and be left completely emotionally scarred but also appreciative of life- read it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I slept in the jungle in Mexico with only some food and water, some hammocks and some trees (after beeing attacked by some angry bees we accidentally disturbed). Found out the jungle can be a particularly noisy place (hello nature!), but definitely worth it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell great stories about things I did in different countries! Furthermore, jamming together is definitely something I love to do with anyone. I'm not the best cook in the world, but would be happy to provide or co-create more "unique" dining experiences!
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Croatia, Cuba, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Mexico, Morocco, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Zambia, Zimbabwe
Countries I’ve Lived In
