About Me

I'm a Peruvian sociologist, musician and schoolteacher, currently traveling Europe before starting my studies in September. I'm an open minded individual who loves a conversation about life or anything. Traveling is great for me because I love meeting new people and having different, challenging experiences. I've been "on the road" this since April, mostly in Tanzania and now starting Europe from Italy. Prior to this year's trip, I've traveled quite a bit throughout Peru, and have also been to Chile and Argentina.

My main occupation prior to this trip has been as a social researcher. I've also earned my living as a musician on many occasions (playing and teaching drums) and, more recently, as a schoolteacher for children of all ages (from 6 to 15 years old).

I'm not accepting guests right now because I'm not home!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing because its a great, affordable way to travel Europe and meet new, interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All kinds of stuff, from latin to metal, going through pop, jazz, classical and many other crazy things. Books: Puff... again, all kinds of stuff. If forced to choose one, my favorite novelist would be José Saramago. I also love great, long Russian novels (I'm currently finishing War and Peace), and I'm also a big fan of the Latinamerican 60's boom (Vargas Llosa, García Márquez). I love having great conversations about literature and music. Movies are great too, but I don't have particular favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently backpacked the coastline of Tanzania from north to south, which meant many hours of bus and boat rides, going through amazing beaches and and learning lots of things about the incredible people of that country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share what I know. I've been a schoolteacher for children of all ages, teaching Language, History, Literature and a bit of Geography. Teaching (and learning) is a personal passion of mine (and an important part of traveling).

I can share about Peru and Latinamerica, about its culture, music and literature, as well as many other things I've learned throughout my time traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music! If you want to learn drums, piano and/or guitar, I can teach you all I know.
