About Me

I love to travel and recently realized how much I want to see the world, traverse it's massive and awesome mountains, take part in it's many different cultures, and meet some great people along the way because it's with those people that I have my most memorable experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet like minded people, make new friends, live like a local in a place I never thought possible, and of course have a place to crash when the day is done!

Interests

Mostly anything outdoors. If I haven't done it, I probably hope to try it soon. Also sports, like rugby, soccer, tennis, and basketball for example. Watching American football. Music. Travel. Relaxing with a book after a tiring day of travel. Music again. Backpacking/Hiking/Camping. A lot more that I don't have room to list!

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to count but I'll try...

Books - The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (perfect for any traveler) 📚 Siddartha by Herman Hesse 📚 The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown ...

Movies - The Shawshank Redemption 🎥 The Usual Suspects 🎥 The Departed 🎥 Up ...

Music - much too difficult to pin down and depends so much on my mood...
Alternative Rock (Dispatch, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys) 🎶 Soul Rap (Chance the Rapper, BJ the Chicago Kid, Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Wyclef Jean, etc)🎶 Reggae (Bob Marley) 🎶 Electronic (Kygo, Avicoi, etc) 🎶 Oldies but Goldies (70s-90s music) 🎶 Classical Piano
Yeah...too much to list properly

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked (pedal...not motor) through the middle of nowhere in the Chilean Patagonia with a few good friends. On our own, biking with everything we would need to cook, camp, etc on our bikes, it was a great challenge.

Spent a month volunteering and working with an ex-Navajo Nation president in the Navajo Nation, Arizona.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach what I can when I can to friends and whoever needs it - how to cook a potato on an open fire, salsa, anything related to my degree (BS Mechanical Engineering), etc. But I want to be able to teach more.
I learn whatever from whoever will teach me, and I share what I can to whoever will listen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some great open and honest conversation, the desire to do experience what's around me, and hopefully some friendly and positive vibes. And I'd love to play some pick up basketball, soccer, or most any other sport with you if you'd like.
