I like to spend time outdoors, exploring cities, listening to music of all kinds, going to shows, making pancakes and eating burritos. I go climbing when I can and I've been trying to improve my chess game.

Really though, I am interested in just about everything.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing because my girlfriend Allyson and I will be traveling to Europe at the end of the summer (a link to her account is at the end of this section). Our plan is to explore Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany, but as of now our plans are pretty open (any suggestions?).

We are both interested in meeting new people in a continent that we have never been to before. In our opinion, learning about the places we will be passing through from the locals themselves would be a much more enriching experience than staying at hostels/hotels every night and reading travel guides.

I love music, and I don't think there is a single genre that I don't appreciate in some way. Like everything else my tastes in music are fluid & ever-changing, so I'll just list a few bands I've been listening to recently: Glass Animals, Alt-J, Miles Davis, The Rolling Stones, Sylvan Esso, The Velvet Underground, and many lesser-known bands that are either local or that I've found on Bandcamp.

A few authors that have been or still are very significant to me are: Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, Willam Carlos Willams, Thoreau (although I am not so sure about him these days), and Gloria Anzaldua.... Also, the poems comprising the Tao de Ching played an important role when I was much younger.

I like watching movies, but I can never remember them... or even remember which ones are my favorite. To be vague, I like documentaries and most movies made by the Cohen brothers the best.
