About Me

I'm a student at the University of Pittsburgh back in the states, but in Dublin, I'm studying Writing at IES. As much as that might reveal, I promise I won't just spout literary knowledge with little to no abandon (unless you really, really want me to). I seriously love to hear stories and make sense of them, though, including yours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I'm opening myself up to the idea of meeting amazing people in amazing places. Hasn't always been like that, but that's part of the journey I'm on.
I think the experience of sharing a house with someone for even a night can result in some pretty amazing conversation. It's a shared experience.

I'd be very willing to elaborate on more of any of this if we meet, by the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, this is a can of worms.

Just to name a few, I love Pink Floyd, Biffy Clyro, U2, Arctic Monkeys, The Gaslight Anthem, Royal Blood, Foo Fighters, the War on Drugs, and many, many more. You could get me started on music, or you could do any number of other things that take a few hours. Either way, that's probably the topic I could spend the most time on, conversation-wise.

There's a movie from the '60s called 'The Great Escape' starring Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Richard Attenborough, and a few others. It's about a POW Camp during WWII called Stalag Luft III, and several prisoners' attempt to escape. It's my favorite movie of all time. Other favorites include Chronicle, every single Pixar film ever, Shawshank Redemption (seriously, if you have eyes, you love Shawshank Redemption), and The Shining. Not a huge movie fan, but they're generally pretty great.

Ray Bradbury pretty much encouraged me to start writing, so all of his work I can get my hands on soon becomes my favorite. The Illustrated Man and The Martian Chronicles are probably at the top- absolutely stellar. I also love Where the Red Fern Grows by Winston Rowls, 11/22/63 by Stephen King, and the entirety of Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Ha. Ha.

(Oh geez, could you imagine?)

I mean, that seems like something that could make a good conversation. Might not want to spoil it on here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do want to be a teacher when I'm a little older, so there's that. Probably elementary school (primary school) age, 11 or 12 would be best. I think you should teach others just through your actions- let them learn from you as learn from them. Never stop learning, either, even if you think you've mastered something.

Share what makes you happy, because chances are, some others find that it makes them happy, too. And now you have something to talk about.
