I'm an honest down to earth guy. I'm going back to college after a long hiatus. This time I'm studying Chinese language (mandarin) and culture at the University of Shenzhen in Guandong province, China!

I really enjoy meeting locals and exchanging stories,culture, and food! It's a much better experience to make a friend and enjoy someone's company than staying at some dreary, expensive hotel alone, or at a hostel full of non local people. I traveled in Australia for over a year, but I actually didn't meet many locals because hostels are full of backpackers from all over. It was a good experience, but I'd really like to meet more locals in the future. I also love learning language which is another great reason to stay at a local persons home. Language exchange.

I Can probably only host in the summer when I'm back home and not at school but If you're interested in a rather remote rural area in the US, be my guest! We can do some unique cultural activities here and there are some unique things like Serpant mound and one of the best Theme Parks in the world Kings Island!

Intereses

I have many wide and varied interests, but at the moment I'm really focusing on my language learning. I love Cantonese and I'm studying it on my own and win friends I've made. I'm also learning mandarin and I'm going to school for it this fall. I'm a versatile person and an avid learner I try to appreciate as many things in life as possible. I love traveling, exploring and learning from everyone.

I've heard it said many times that there are only two kinds of music in the world. Good and bad. If there is a lot of effort put into music and the performer is passionate it will be good. That is the nature of music. Some people may not prefer it or really like it, but they should be able to appreciate it for what it is. So really, I like all kinds of music, it's a bit arbitrary to talk about it in genres.

As for books and movies, I have a similar philosophy. I am a huge movie and book fan and I could never choose one, but some of my favorites are the Star Wars and Lord of the rings trilogies , Titanic, Grand Torino, and Avatar. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, the Rape of Nanking, the Art of War, Don Quizote, and White Fang.

I guess traveling and working in Australia by myself for a year would be on this list. One of the most fu. Things I did while I was there was tandem skydiving. But one day is like to jump alone!

As I've said before I love learning from others and sharing my own knowledge. Anything I can do to help others i try. I studied in Thailand to get my Tinity CERTESOL certificate to teach Eenglish and I enjoy helping others with the language!

Hmm... I know how to cook a few good meals and I always like to improve my cooking. But I am not a great cook xD I just make a few good things. I suppose I could give advice on some of the places I've traveled as well. Anything else I guess we can talk about =)
