About Me
I have a wondering mind. I catch myself constantly thinking about "fantastic worlds", and I create narratives in my mind to put myself to sleep.
I have a passion for photography - not just "love" for "static pics", but a passion for the process of "assembling" a good lit scene. I love the process of making films, even though I haven't made a feature - yet - a good, thoughtful, beautiful lit scene, gives me goosebumps. On top of that, add a complete admiration for dark lit - Fincher-esque "noir" - sets.
I also like politics. Not the boring conversations, but the narratives behind them. The history. It all comes down to "history" - backstabbing, treason, all the gud stuff... It is all about history repeating, or completely denying itself, and it is nice to dabble in the dramatic aspect of it - even when the overdramatization of serious issues by the media IS the dramatic aspect.
In the realm of "art"...
In architecture, Brasilia, my home city, is a frugal attempt of a futuristic city, and the modern, "vanguardistic" "art" of it is something that truly inspires me. Although what fascinates me is "contrast": neo-gothic architecture awes me too!
In painting, I can't draw shit, but anything that frightens me is a plus, like Velazquez... Eyck... Escher... I also can spend hours devouring any contemporary sci-fi movie concept art book.
In music, anything that could serve as a drama/thriller film soundtrack for me is nice. You know what feeling I am talking about. From classic, to dubstep, to hip hop, to eastern folk. It only has to have emotion! Climax! I don't usually hear entire albums, as few melodies are gems like this.... Casually, I can hear everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to work for the Ministry of Sport here in Brazil. It was an awesome experience as I had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, helping organizing the World Cup and Olympics during the five years I stayed there. Meeting people, new cultures, hearing about their experiences was a very, very enriching experience.
I miss that. I miss this "influx" of this knowledge, of exchange.
A friend of a friend told me about it, and here I am!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once traveled to an far away tribe in Amazon to film an ad.
Exchanged things for a bow, some arrows and a quiver.
Got malaria.
