Overview
About Me
I'm Daniel, 27 and I'm originally from Dublin, Ireland. I've been living in Canada for the last year and a half. It's my first time living in North America so it's quite different from Europe. I'm leaving Toronto at the end of next month to travel around the U.S. for a month before returning to Ireland. I'm going from San Francisco up through the northern states to New York where I'll spend a few days, then down through the southern states back to San Francisco. I'm looking forward to it immensely as I love travelling, nature and seeing new places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love languages, culture and travelling so I love meeting new people of all different backgrounds hence why I enjoy teaching English as a second language to international students. I feel they learn just as much from me as I do from them.
Interests
I'm politically libertarian and liberal. I like cycling, swimming and tennis for sports, and reading for a hobby. I'm also a proud redhead! ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Irish/Celtic traditional music, as well as ethnic music. I love hearing different types of music from different countries. My international taste also extends to films and books. I have a mini-library at home with dozens of French and Spanish novels. I enjoy foreign films as I find Hollywood gets boring pretty quickly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught English to refugees in Ireland for a summer as a volunteer. They picked up the language quickly enough and were able to tell me about their experiences, which despite being very sad were really meaningful. I'd love to do it again.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I teach English, love learning foreign languages and enjoy sharing my culture and experiences to the international community.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my international outlook and experiences. I love talking about important matters that affect us, rather than trivial things. I really like debating and am respectful of others' opinions. I enjoy meeting new people and socialising and if you'd like to practise some languages, sure, why not?
