About Me

Just about to finish my undergraduate degree and now I'm sometimes able to explore the world outside of university. It's unsettling and also exciting.

My big hobby until just now was debating and public speaking. I find arguing politics, but also a whole bunch of other things (ethics, biology, things in the news), very fun, even if it's to the detriment of my general wellbeing and may increase the stress in my life. Debating has also provided me with some great opportunities to go abroad and meet people from other countries and pop my liberal university bubble.

Am also new to travelling alone (I've done it once before for one night), so I am also intrigued to see how that goes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want my traveling experience to expand my mindset and give me new perspectives on things, including myself.
After traveling to different places, sometimes with friends and sometimes family, I've realized that just because you're in a new place doesn't mean you won't stick to old habits, in which case why go in the first place?
So I'm on Couchsurfing because traveling somewhere and staying at a hotel (or a hostel) with people you already know and going to standard tourist attractions isn't making the most of traveling!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach/Share: I can't presume to know much of anything well enough to teach it, although I am genuinely interested in what I am studying and would love to talk about immunology, microbiology, or science in general. For non-studious pursuits, as mentioned I have an interest in debating and public speaking and can talk politics and related things.
Learn: I would love to learn more about the history of places that I travel to, including why these places are as they are physically, culturally, socially etc.
