About Me

Hi! I'm Dan! Some people call me Dk! I'm passionate about showing young people that other people care about them and that they're worthy of affection! It's awesome! I am a junior at Nyack College and I will graduate next May with a Bachelor's Degree in Youth and Family Studies. I work three jobs including pro-audio gigs and Zumiez.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I go places sometimes where I would much rather like to have an authentic experience rather than one ushered or "chaperoned" by someone with a check coming to them for telling me where to go! I am in college so the familiarity and comfort of staying near people/ getting to know individuals quickly comes easily to me.

Interests

I play drums, like good music including The Wombats, Bethel, The Stray Cats, and Beautiful Eulogy. I like hanging out with my girlfriend whom I love with all my heart. She comes with me on most of my adventures, which is phenomenal cause I get lost sometimes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Inception, and The Matrix. As far as music, I like good music, like, people who can play an instrument and don't need a studio or an expensive producer to make them sound good. I used to read, then I didn't, but recently I've gotten back into it. My all time favourite books are S.E. Hilton's "The Outsiders," Lois Lowry's "The Giver," and Brother Yun's "The Heavenly Man."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Upon finishing my first year of college, I went to California with no plans for three weeks prior to investing the majority of my summer at a camp in Sequoia National Park. I went all the way from lower San Diego to San Francisco, all with public transportation! It was wild!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a great conversationalist. Mainly because at Zumiez they make sure we don't ask customers questions that can end in yes or no. Haha, but also, I just like to get to know people because they matter as individuals on earth. I also love to bring home snacks and I mean, who doesn't like snacks?

Countries I’ve Visited
