Hey everybody! My name's Dan, but most people call me by last name (Krumm). I've lived all over the U.S. and currently live in Ohio where I'm going to Kent State University for Conservation Biology.

I joined because my roommate and I are going to Europe over the holiday break, and I remember a lot of people that I travelled with in Central America saying that couch surfing was a useful service. My roommate already made an account so I thought I should get on here too!

兴趣

I love nature! I like the ocean and all the activities involving it (kayaking, SCUBA, swimming, sailing, etc.) the best but I like being around forests and plant life almost just as much. I love the city too though! I'm kind of a foodie, so I love trying new restaurants (the weirder the food they serve the better) as well as checking out cool bars and breweries. I'm kind of an adrenaline junkie, so I'll try just about anything once. I absolutely adore new and exciting stuff, whatever it may be.
I also spend a bunch of time writing, it's one of my primary hobbies... and of course I read a lot of books.

Books - I love stuff by Jon Krakauer, Carl Hiaasen, Kurt Vonnegut, Chuck Palahniuk, George R.R. Martin, Jack Kerouac, Tim Dorsey, Hunter S. Thompson, Denis Johnson, Michael Crichton... I could go on and on lol.
Movies - My favorite movie's the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and I'd have to say Danny Boyle and Wes Anderson are my favorite directors.
Music - I listen to a lot of different types of music, but some of my favorite bands are Portugal. The Man, Louis XIV, Harvey Danger, The xx, Vampire Weekend, Phantogram, Miike Snow, Ghostland Observatory, Midlake, Grandaddy, Modest Mouse, RJD2, Childish Gambino, The Strokes, again... I could go on and on with this one.

I got my open water SCUBA certification when I was 12, in a pool of sharks. lol!

I like to think that I'm an interesting and deep-thinking individual, so I guess the best thing I have to offer would be the ability to carry on an intelligent conversation. I'm also up for just about anything activity wise, so whether you want to go bar-hopping or skydiving I'm game.
