About Me

I am preparing myself for a sabbatical year, after traveling by myself for 2 months in the Northeast of Brazil and 3 months in Europe!

I am an over the top positive, energetic, and uplifiting person. It is hard to see me in a bad mood and even harder to see me complaining. The importance of a optimistic outlook in life and being grateful is a deep lesson that I learned the hard way! I don't want ever to change that!

I am also outgoing, open minded, curious, creative (I write as my main mean of expressing creativity!), present, interested and I love to talk to new people, learn and share! I am definitely extrovert!

I love to cook, although I am not a great cook yet, the ocean, bakcpacking and dogs!

I consider myself very reliable. If you made plans and promises, you definitely should stick to it and go out of your way not to betray your word. I also consider myself generous and kind.

All in all, I am a pleasant and positive person to hang around. So far I haven't used CS for hosting or being hosted, but I plan to change that during my sabbatical!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To live this life we should act in a way that is good for us.

But good not only for us. It has to be good for us and for the people around us.

That's not all. It has to be good for us, good for people around us and has to be good now, in a few hours, weeks, months and years. It need to be sustainable good, not only in an immediatist fashion.

I believe that the Couchsurfing philosophy and community is a perfect example of this idea. It is good for the host, for the hosted, it is good now for both - share experiences, learn with each other, get to know a part of town with locals that would never go - and it is good in the future, with the gratitude and friendship that this initial open minded contact can spark.

Embracing the couch surfing philosophy is a good path towards a better and brighter me, and for the awesome people around me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One short story of mine won a national prize when I was in my early twenties, still in College! The sad part is that insted of being proud and motivated by this, I convinced myself I would never write anything as good as that, and stopped writing. Only 9 years after that I decided to give it a try again!

My first travel by myself I was supposed to stay 13 days. I loved it so much that I simply missed my flight back home on purposed and backpacked without a plan - sometimes wihtout knowing where I would sleep - for two months. Yes, I did end up sleeping in the sandbanks of a beach a couple of nights, but I was so happy and grateful for my life that I loved the experience!

During this travel I also put myself in risk by helping out a drunk girl, in a shady bar in Olinda, She was almost unconscious, she couldn't even say her name to me for a long time until she got better. Before I got out of my way, there were already a few guys trying to maliciously approach her and if I had looked the other way, I am pretty sure she would have been sexually assaulted.

Even though I didn't have friends to hold my back and I was in an unfamiliar place, I went out of my way and took her from there, waited until she was well enough to tell me where she lived and put her on a Uber. I got threated and I really feared that something worse could happen, but today I am so glad that I was able to do it and that I escaped without a scratch.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a lot of Brazilian History, I have several stories to tell, I am a reasonable good dancer, I know a little bit about a myriad of topics and I am always willing to learn more.

I definitely could share those experiences about the things I've learned! I also love to cook, even though I am not very skilled, and sharing a home cooked meal is one of my favorite things. Never worry, the dishes are always on me!

I also always travel with a light portable hammock and I will always share it with everyone! I love hammocks! I can teach how to tie a good knot for it, easy to undo when you are done :D

I usually have chocolate with me, that I am glad to share! I love chocolate!
