About Me
Hi all!
I'm Daniel (22) from a smaller, southern city called Szeged, Hungary. I study Applied Mathematics at University of Szeged, where I also work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and I am also a Representative of the Mathematics Students in the Students' Union. I have been given the chance to organize events and other activities for the students and teachers (Math trip, hiking in Hungary, special nights with logical puzzles and games, annual ball for the Faculty of Science and Informatics etc.). I am currently traveling with the University Roadshow promoting my uni and Mathematics for high schoolers. After my second year I went to the United States, I was an Exchange Student for more than 3 and a half months. After my Bachelors, I pursued a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, also at University of Szeged.
Thanks to my previous experiences, it is glaring that traveling and meeting new people are endeavors I would like to engage in even more. While studying for my BSc in Mathematics at University of Szeged, I developed a keen interest in the interaction between individuals and their environment and I found this very intriguing and exciting, specifically its influence on each others' cultures. In my second year I applied for being a Representative of the Mathematics Students in the Students' Union, and In the summer of my graduation I volunteered to be a guide at the 30th International Biology Olympiad at Szeged, where I took care of 4 very special 17 year olds from Tajikistan. In July, 2020 I am going to Nagasaki, Japan to meet them and be the Competitors' Guide once more. The next step in my journey will be the Erasmus+ exchange program in the Netherlands in the Fall Semester, for which I am currently applying.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It has always been my ambition to meet new people, have international friends and get to know new cultures. I consider it a vibrant experience to get the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and learn about their culture and values. I developed an intense interest in foreign cultures and travel from my experience in working at an International Summer Camp in the United States.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't really have favorites. I could list a hundred good movies and books, but generally I like the ones with deeper meanings and to have deep thoughts and conversations about them. The Music I am listening to usually depends on my emotional state. I prefer Indie and Alternative Rock as well as acoustic and sometimes Pop.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ask me anything about Math, Hungary or my life. I'm an open book and like to have a nice conversation. I can share my opinion on almost anything and would like to get to know yours as well. I have a high interest in the culture and history of the country I visit, and I can tell you a lot about mines as well.
