Overview
About Me
I grew up in Wichita and loved away for graduate school before moving back. I love hiking, making pottery, coffee roasting, and bluegrass music.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I originally joined because I was driving to the Arctic Ocean in Alaska during the summer of 2017 and wanted to meet locals and keep cost down. I found the community to be great and really hospitable and I hope to keep the generosity flowing through hosting.
As I've traveled around I've realized that the best part of travelling is the people you meet. Wherever I go I hope to meet locals so as to not just have a tourist experience but to actually learn about the culture and lifestyle wherever I'm at.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of movies. Whenever I'm not reading for class, I like to read what I call "Adventure Memoirs" - true stories of people going on grand adventures. Things like "A Walk in the Woods", "Ship of Gold", and "North to the Night". I also love bluegrass music and anything with a folksy vibe.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked and camped around Iceland for 10 days with my best friend!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to swap stories over a pint or cup of coffee. I also love hiking and backpacking and would be happy to share some of my knowledge if you're looking to get involved in that sort of thing. Also if you want an impromptu pottery lesson we can make it happen!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I host you I'd be happy to cook a meal for you, if you'd like. Just keep your expectations fairly low because remember I'm a poor graduate student! I'd also love to share conversations about theology or philosophy if you're into that sort of thing.
