About Me

Currently I'm teaching English composition and creative writing for the University of Colorado Denver in Beijing, China. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where cars double as conventional ovens during the summertime. I attended ASU (Go Sun Devils!) and later attended San Francisco State (Go social progress!). My interests range from writing and reading to boxing and sports. Feel free to find me on Facebook, LinkedIn, and/or AirBnb for more background info!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to try something different. I've had only positive experiences with Airbnb, but fellow travelers can't recommend Couchsurfing enough so here I am. : )

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorites are difficult...I recently read 'Strangers in Their Own Land' by Arlie Hochchild which I highly recommend if you're interested in political sociology. Currently, I'm working on 'Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind' by Yuval Harari and it's fantastic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught a modern drama course this past semester and now several of my students are hooked on theater!

Teach, Learn, Share

"A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough." - Mr. Adams

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're ever in Beijing I would be happy to meet up or possibly host. If I can't host than I can certainly recommend places to stay.
