About Me

I am from Colombia and I am currently doing a masters in Electrical Engineering in RWTH Aachen. I love travelling and meeting new people while doing so. In my experience while travelling alone, meeting people with whom you have a connection is much better than just sightseeing.

I am open minded, always have a very positive attitude and I like to help people the best I can :).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have met incredible people through Couchsurfing and I hope to keep on meeting people with a good attitude towards life.

Throughout the spring of 2020 I would like to travel with my partner around Europe and it would be great to relive the Couchsurfing experience.

Interests

I like cooking very much, although lately with my studies I only cook on the weekends and sometimes in the evening. Once in a while I enjoy mixing new things or making up something (sort of an experiment) with what I have in the fridge, which luckily turns out to be good most of the times.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost every type of music, but I mostly listen to rock. When it comes to dancing I prefer latin music, such as salsa or merengue (reggaeton not so much), or carnival music from my hometown.

As for movies I tend to like those that are based on real life or close to a life experience. I have also learned to like alternative movies with my partner quite a biy. However, I have not gone to the movies in a long time especially because in Germany they translate most of the movies!

The last book I read was 21 Lessons for the 21st Century and I liked and agreed with Harari in most of his points of view. I am currently reading a book that is called "The Universe in your hands" which tries to explain astrophysics and quantum physics with metaphors and through journeys that broaden your imagination. I also like action novels and science fiction. I am a fan of Harry Potter, I went through the seven books plus "The Cursed Child" and "Fantastic Beasts" :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is not THE ONE thing that I have done, but I would say a combination of my travels.

I had one of the greatest experiences in my life while travelling across Europe in 2015 where I got to share a lot with people from Couchsurfing from different cities.

Back in Colombia in 2016, I made a group of friends from different nationalities and we travelled to different places within Colombia: Villa de Leyva, San Gil, the coffee region and the caribbean coast of Colombia. We used to hang out a lot in Bogotá and go for a drink and chat. It was a great time of my life where I worked by shifts and after 12 days of working I had several days off which I often used to travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like teaching overall, so if I could help you with anything I know about languages I'd gladly do so. As a matter of fact, I continue doing online tutorings on physics and mathematics.

I would also like to continue learning from other cultures and teaching them about mine as well as talking about my country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Chatting about life, philosophy or travels while sharing some beers. I can also share some beautiful pictures of Colombia and encourage you to go and visit.
