About Me

I work in an actuarial position then come home to play trombone, record music, write songs, arrange video game music, and enjoy video games and board games with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people that I wouldn't normally get a chance to, and I enjoy both hearing and telling great stories. The internet is moving us all in a direction of digital interconnectedness, so I think it's great that sites like Couchsurfing exist to reduce the cost of travel and enable physical interconnectedness as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a broad range of things; here's a few off the top of my head: Bands -- Muse, System of a Down, The Mars Volta, CHON, Shpongle, Animals As Leaders, Dream Theater, Radiohead, Kamasi Washington, The Motet, Gorillaz, The Offspring, Arctic Monkeys, Royksopp, Erlend Oye, Caravan Palace, and many more. I also like classical music (Romantic composers like Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, are my favorite) and video game music: Koji Kondo (Mario, Zelda) Kasumi Totaka (Animal Crossing, Yoshi Story), Toby Fox (Undertale), Grant Kirkhope (Banjo series, DK64), Yuka Tsujiyoko (Fire Emblem), are some of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I kickstarted a casual card game called Chalice with two very close friends. We exceeded our goal, and I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas for the trailers, designing the music, and figuring out how we were going to produce and advertise.
