About Me

Hey there, I'm a Canadian finishing up an academic contract in Italy, and now interested in seeing a little more of this amazing country before I go. Travelling a lot is new to me (back in Canada I'm more often found staying home with a good book or a dinner party), but I've had so many unforgettable experiences, from hiking up many mountains of Trentino, to swimming in the Tyrrhenian Sea, to walking the Cinque Terre, to watching Vacanze di Natale 2000. Ok that last one I could forget.

Sto imparando italiano (infatti ho fatto l'esame B2 quest'estate!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love learning about a place from the people who live there - how else would I have learned about "Apericena" than from my Milan friends? I'm not so much interested in the tourist sights as I am in what it is to live in a city in Italy (as I have for two years), so I'm hoping to get that experience from Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I'm reading a lot of Zerocalcare and Dylan Dog, as my last bit of immersion in the Italian language! Apart from that I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction, most recently The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemison. But I'm always looking for the next book that will pick me up and run away with me.
