About Me

At this point in my life I am more selective of who I let in my place and space or not. My current observation unfortunately is that a lot of people get less and less aware of themselves and their surroundings. I would like to have people around me who are living at least somewhat in the moment and are also reliable to a certain extent.

Freedom does not mean carelessness. A lot of people seem to mix this up.

What I personally am aiming for is a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, would be great if surfers respect and take a glimpse at that and I am always willing to learn from hosts and improve on that matter.

I try to live a simple life, don't expect luxury.

I still like to share but I don't like when people take things for granted.

Awareness, balance, respect, patience, flow, fun and honesty are some of the things I try to pursue and provide.

I like to keep a place simple but clean, I can adapt to a lot when I am surfing and respect the routines of people living there, but would love for people to be respectful and halfway considerate as well of course.

So leave the place as clean as you found it, please. Especially these days a lot of people seem to be missing awareness for things like that.

Just because I take care of my surroundings etc doesn't mean that I don't know how to party or and just have fun by the way. I still enjoy going out and seeing where the night takes me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This platform was recommended so warmly to me by so many travellers all over the world that I gave it a shot quite some years ago. I met really good, fun people on my journeys and shared some of the greatest times with them.

Interests

I've studied and learned some of the things listed up there, others are just new hobbies. People say I have a way of being able to explain things in a way most people understand rather fast. If I am in the mood and have the time I might be able to teach you whatever you are interested in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Currently I like more electronic dance music, atmospheric stuff or songs with a good beat to train to. I used to be into Rock and Metal a lot, but I only listen to that every now and then. I love live jams if the emotion, groove, flow and melody are what it's about, not if it wanders off into a technical jerk off contest.

Books: When I was younger I used to devour book after book, but the hunger really faded with time and things like meditation, travelling, martial arts became more important. Currently I am looking into some books about breathing though.

Movies: I used to watch a lot of movies as a child and teenager, but somehow I rarely find films that truly amaze me the older I get. I'd rather spend time in real life. Sometimes there are interesting documentaries or so and maybe once a year there is a series worth watching a season or two...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fasting in silence (no food or speaking on the border of a national park in Portugal) for 14 days. One of the most intense experiences of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Massaging (no "happy ending", party people this is about healing - Chinese, Russian and European massage), spinal alignment (Dorn therapy etc), some vocal coaching, a little martial arts (BJJ, Systema, Tai Chi) and I can help with meditating and all sorts of breathwork.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Pretty much everything listed in my teach/learn/share section.

Apart from that I can share stories from quite a few places around the world, am always interested in learning and sharing new ways of living, especially living sustainably, and of course fun nights going out, meeting people, dancing.

Basically I am still learning to just enjoy life without overthinking everything. Overall I like to live healthy, but I am not strict as a monk either. Sometimes you just gotta let lose too.
