Overview
About Me
I was born in Austria (Europe) and grew up in the countryside. I am a mechanical/metal engineer and I am really into all kinds of sports. I played soccer for 15 years in a team, and numerous other sports and action activities like beachvolleyball, hiking, bungee jumping or competitive running.
I got a bit tired of Austrian country life, so I started travelling around Europe. As I enjoyed this quite much, I decided to go further and went to Asia. I did a one-month trip through Thailand and Cambodia. My next big journey was a 10 month trip through Hongkong, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Phillipines and Alaska. It was the most beautiful and exiting experience/adventure i've ever made!! And i survived.
I used CS a few times and met a lot of nice and friendly people/friends. I enjoyed it quite much!
My most important motivations for going abroad are brushing up my command of the English language, gaining more independence and life experience, and of course going for great adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really want to improve my English, therefore I want to speak and communicate with local, native people as much as possible and avoid crowded, international hostels or tourist groups. I would also love to get to know the culture, the way of life and local customs and traditions. Moreover, I would like to use the chance to make new friends and have them visit me back home in Austria some time.

Driving, camping and exploring new Zealand for 6 month in my own car
The first day when i arrived in Bangkok, i couldn´t find my friend´s house. A lot of inhabitants came and asked me what i was looking for, but nobody knew the house. Some people gave me drinks and offered me that i could come back to spend the night there place, if i couldn´t find it.
After 8 hours of walking through the village i finally reached my friend. I gave my phone to a man on the street, and after the conversation this man brought me to my friend´s house in his own car.
I was so glad!!
I couldn´t tell any bad stories about Thai people. Everybody i met was pleasant and helpful!
