I'm a self-employed artist who loves to paint geometric abstractions; my colorful pop-art paintings are influenced by architecture and technology, as well as theory of quantum mechanics and many other branches of the sciences.

I exhibit my work with a growing community of multi-disciplinary artists and continue to travel to Miami FL, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles CA and future destinations, always sketching and painting and immersed in arts and culture.

I love ocean swimming, hiking and climbing, yoga and camping, ecstatic dance events, as well as urban immersion and meeting people in various groups, especially Spanish-speaking intercambios and cultural exchange.

I've also traveled to / lived in Galapagos, Barcelona, San Francisco, Bologna, Madrid, Maui and a few other fascinating places.

I've been immersed in arts and culture as an artist, journalist, writer and production assistant since 2001.

I've recently joined with an art fair hosting exhibitions around the USA, so my travel plans include Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Washington DC among other cities; also considering residencies in Japan and other locations.

So while shipping my art and planning travel and exhibitions, it’s great to connect with new friends and share the experience, most of these stays are 5-7 days.

In many cases I have the good fortune to be able to offer my hosts complimentary tickets to the events. I've enjoyed both hosting and surfing and traveling, and enjoy the unlimited potential of a global community.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love contemporary and vintage EDM, electronic ambient music, techno, Groove Armada-type meditative active music, also guitar-centric music in many genres, classical strings, punk and hardcore, a pretty wide array of music.

In movies I am a fan of thrillers and I've even written several screenplays and a short novel; I see almost every new sci-fi and comic book-based new big-budget picture that comes out, I recently thought Aquaman was pretty good. In the midst of Oscar season I'm also reminded that I love many more art-house films as well, thinking back on many movies directed by Danny Boyle including Slumdog Millionaire which I think was an interesting hybrid.

In books I really enjoy the most literary of spy novels and thrillers, especially the canon of master John Le Carre. A relatively new author is former CIA staffer Jason Matthews whose Red Sparrow was made into the excellent movie with Jennifer Lawrence! Also sci-fi, the amazing Red Rising series by Pierce Brown, really excellent commentary on modern social hierarchy and not so thinly-veiled advocacy for social justice.

But ultimately my two favorite contemporary authors are Barbara Kingsolver and TC Boyle, and I can gladly enjoy comparing and contrasting these two in their similar world views yet differing levels of cynicism and the ways in which they impart through their characters the scathing and visceral realities of human society.

I was the featured artist for TEDXJHU at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 2017, I staged my most extensive one-day exhibition with 42 art works including a 3-by-6-meter painted stage banner, and had a committee of three dozen student volunteers to help load in, install and then dismantle the installation.

I love to share, teach and learn painting and sketching compositional techniques, especially watercolors and acrylics on a variety of media and styles; also video editing and storyboards in screenwriting for film; literary critique and techniques of story writing; any and all science and technology related conversations.

Arts and culture immersion is my main life pursuit, painting is my life and I have dedicated the past fifteen years to developing a visual vocabulary of geometric abstraction related to our moment in contemporary society, our collective immersion with technology and the philosophical adaptation and evolution we humans are imprinting on our minds with tech.

I think it's a highly valuable conversation and I strive to relinquish value judgements on this and be open to all opinions, i.e. the evolutionary influence of technology, positive and negative effects, overall philosophical conclusions and the entire complex picture.
