Overview
About Me
Greetings! Daniel here :) I would consider myself a generally open person who likes to see new things and explore. I'm generally introspective and enjoy quiet walks. Seeking the truth that sets us free. If you are into MBTI personality tests, then I would be an INT/FP-ish person. I enjoy analyzing things
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I see couchsurfing as a great opportunity to exchange cultures, languages and experiences with other people during travels. I like to see things 'like the locals' (though I also don't have an issue with being touristy). I hope in return I can host my ex-hosts should they visit Singapore in the future and spread the joy and kindness.
My couchsurfing experience to date:
Year 2014: During my student exchange in Finland, I had the opportunity to live for 3 days with a really nice Finnish lady in Turku City together with 2 other friends (1 Spanish, 1 Singaporean). She was doing a Masters in International Relations. We gave her a gift of Herbal Pepper Pork Broth (called Bak Kut Teh) Soup Mix from Singapore.
On another occasion, I had the opportunity to live with a really welcoming Egyptian guy in Helsinki, together with 3 other friends (the same 2 from the Turku trip and another Singaporean).
2015: In Boston
Interests
I like to pick up new skills, check out new workshops. Playing the guitar is a nice past-time. I like to cook new recipes. Steaks and crepes are relaxing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some books that might come to mind include Blink, Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
Some movies/series that might come to mind include Midnight in Paris, March of the Penguins, Planet Earth, Friends, Matrix
Some music that might come to mind include Acoustic covers such as by Tommy Emmanuel. Acapellas are nice too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I really did enjoy the thrill of skydiving in Perth.
Teach, Learn, Share
In Singapore we speak English as a first language. This is thanks to the government's initiative since many years ago to teach English in schools.
Singapore is extremely multi-cultural. As such we have many different food types here. I would love to share something that is uniquely Singapore!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Uniquely-Singaporean food snacks and recipes
If you would like to practise speaking English, then I will be your practice ;)
