About Me

I am an actor working in Gabrovo. If I am not travelling mostly I am in Gabrovo for work. It’s also possible I might be in Plovdiv, but if it is a busy time of the season sometimes I stay in Gabrovo for months.
I love traveling. And even more than that I love acting and theatre.

If you want to know more about me, take a look at my instagram.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was on Couchsurfing before and I accepted a few guests, meeting really interesting people, but I lost my old account and the references.

Actually there it is - an old account with a reference on it: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/danielcouchs

Interests

Sometimes, not often, but sometimes I meet people who speak with amazing passion about their interests, about things they love and are passionate about. You can see it in how excited they are to talk about that thing that drives them and you can see a special spark in their eyes. They could be talking on a subject that I have never cared about: cars, football or whatever - it is still so enticing to listen to people's true passions when they speak with love and have this spark in their eyes.
Maybe I have that passion in my eyes when I talk about a film that thrilled me, or any kind of artwork that moved me, or my work on a play or a film (which have a lot of funny stories in them), or my traveling experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is "The little prince". Someone told me that is very pretentious. But I stand by my taste. As pretentious as it may sound this is a book that you can reread every six months and discover something new every time.
Also "A Clockwork Orange" was amazing for me.
I seem to like a lot of Neil Gaiman lately.
But anyways I usually don't get into only one genre. I try to read and experience a lot of diverse and different topics and authors.

My favorite movie - "The great dictator" and most of the other movies of Charlie Chaplin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a week-long hiking trip through Pirin mountain without a plan - just a map, camping gear and supplies. There were trails of course and some of them were full of hikers, some were completely empty. The biggest challenge was a hike that took me 10 hours - at some sections there was no path - just some rocks that I had to hop through like a mountain goat. Another section was a narrow ridge where either there is nothing on your left and right side except a free fall, or there are tight rocks that you have to squeeze through.
And so I started at Bansko crossed the park, saw beautiful lakes, ate blackberries after picking them from bushes, visited chalets and emerged at Dobrinishte on time to catch the train home.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught acting classes. We could work on voice training, confidence or creativity and improvisation.
I can help with first steps in longboarding, but we would need a board - easy if I'm hosting, I imagine - not so easy if I am traveling.
I love learning languages.
Share your stories with me and I will share mine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Things that I would love to share with my hosts:

Make shift acting classes - we could work on: voice training, confidence or creativity and improvisation.
My couchsurfing experiences.
The uniqueness of Bulgarian culture.
My stories and experiences about traveling and my life as an actor.
My English is pretty good. Maybe some language experience will be of use to some hosts.
That's probably the best I can offer.

During my travels and meetings with people from CS I shared:
Pleasant talks on many topics with a few hosts.
Translations of some Bulgarian folk songs and their deep meanings.
My hospitality as a host.
