About Me

Well, it's never easy to talk about yourself- and I am not good at this at all! But, according to what others say about me, I believe I am a very chill person ! It's true that I deeply enjoy a good laugh, and it's true that I rarely find myself mad or angry with something/someone. Let's say that I like a positive environment, full of friendships and stories topped with spontaneous smiles and loud laughs. In fact, prior to clothes, style or fashion, the first thing I observe in someone is the smile- and how sincere/ honest they are! Apart from this, I love sports! And adrenaline.. I've already done skydiving, the bungy jump, Rafting, wake-boarding and cliff jumps. I like snorkelling and I've done a scuba diving course as well. Those I don't practice very often (despite I wish!), but the sports I practice regularly are Tennis and Surfing. Equally love them! In past I have worked as a tennis coach in Brazil, and even when living in Australia I offered some private lessons.. And surfing whenever is possible! Enough of this, I also appreciate some easy going activities like hiking or even a good talk in a pub! I would say that partying hard and hangovers are not my priorities haha

Briefly talking about my background and story: I was born in Brazil, state of Rio de Janeiro city of Niterói. Niterói is literally next to the city of Rio de Janeiro, and although it is not as touristy as Rio, it is plenty of beaches and natural beauty. I grew up there , particularly around the "Oceanic Region" area, what means up on the north coast of Niterói. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, but due to the Exchange program I did in Australia, I still have a couple of missing years to graduate. Speaking of which, I lived for 1 year and a half in Australia, and studied at The University of Sydney during this period. What an amazing experience- that was when the desire and appreciation for travelling bloomed! During this time I realized that we should always take the most advantage of our time and, whenever is possible, travel and be a nice host. In 1.5 years in Sydney I hosted 5 people, which all of them turned out to be reaaaally close friends nowadays! Yes, my house is now open!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said before, living abroad taught me that we should always take most advantage of our time, travel and host whenever is possible! That's an absolutely nice way of expanding ourselves- inner and outer. The contact with people teaches a lot! Specially when it is about different countries and different cultures.. Also, the structure that couchsurfing provides easy to match people with similar interests and begin a lifelong friendship. I've already had bad experiences when going to too empty/too full hostels, so I believe that couch surfing is the best deal. Specially because being in touch with locals is a way of optimizing your travel time- they know where/ how/ when to go! At least when I am hosting, I always try to give all the best tips (way better than tripAdvisor)! haha

Interests

I believe that the section "About me" has already said enough.. But apart from that, I admit that my soul also seeks for knowledge, history and science haha I really enjoy a quality reading ! Books, articles or whatever!
And as you know, travelling, learning languages + cultures, meeting people, sports, events, hiking, tennis, surfing and hanging out.
