About Me

I have been a self titled Buddhist for over 15 years, ever since middle school and starting in high school, I began developing my personal practice. The development of my practice was influenced greatly while living in China from 2012-2016 as a children's English teacher. My development was greatly influenced during this time and I even received lay ordination, officially becoming a Buddhist "lay person". Due to Changing visa regulations and my lack of a degree, I had to leave China.

Wanting to learn more about Buddhism, I shifted to India as a student in 2016, majoring in Buddhist Studies, and completed my undergrad in 2020. Due to various reasons, I stopped identifying as a "Buddhist" after visiting Bodhgaya and meeting "Ram Ram" baba, however my personal practice continued unabated. Ram Ram taught me about the "Udasin"- meaning detached/Indifferent in Sanskrit- and during the 2019 Kumbh Mela, introduced me to my Guru Ji. Guru Ji, has given me a little name, and my little name is Ram Muni. I am but a child-chela- of the Usadin Sampradaya founded by Baba Sri Chand, son of Guru Nanak Dev Ji- First Guru of the Sikhs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wish to offer travelers in India a chance to stay at an average and ordinarily unspectacular countryside Temple/Ashram. This is not your typical tourist spot but is an hour drive from a few hotspots for native tourist. I wish to offer spiritual travelers a window into the unremarkable, indistinctive, and mundane day to day life at our Udasin Ashram.

Om kabir Sai ram
